CARE Opposes I&M’s Massive Rate Hike

On June 24, 2019, I&M Power Company servings southwest Michigan filed an application before the Michigan Public Service Commission seeking $58 million in additional revenue averaging a rate increase for residential ratepayers of 25% or about $36/month. According to press reports, a major part of the case will be a $478 million upgrade to its nuclear facility in Bridgman.

The Citizens Against Rate Excess known by its acronym “CARE” is seeking residential ratepayers that are customers of I&M and pay I&M for residential electric service to join in its fight to oppose this rate increase by signing up under the “Sign Up Now” tab.
